People in New Orleans have been spotted wearing "Brad Pitt for Mayor" T-shirts and there is an underground movement burgeoning that's come up with a web site and a list of reasons that Pitt should run for office, which includes things like Angelina Jolie would be the First Lady of New Orleans, and "publicity and photo opportunities will chase our mayor, instead of the mayor chasing publicity and photo opportunities."
So is the Hollywood hunk considering a run for office in The Big Easy?
Nope. Aside from the fact that he's not eligible (you have to be a New Orleans resident for five years and he's only got three under his belt), Pitt told the Today show's Ann Curry that he's too liberal to ever be elected in New Orleans.
“I’m running on the gay marriage, no religion, legalization and taxation of marijuana platform,” Brad said. “I don’t have a chance!”
Pitt says being a politician isn't what he "does best." So maybe he'll stick with being a movie star, working on his Make It Right organization (which has built homes for citizens whose lives were devastated by Katrina), and being dad to his six sweet kids.
