Check out Scarlett Johansson's new music video of the song "Relator," the first single from her forthcoming album of duets with Pete Yorn, titled Break Up, which is due out September 15th.

I have to say I kind of like this track (the video whatever...). I like what's she's trying to do anyway, kind of a vintagey sullen voice thing – hard to say or not if cool voice enhancement is all she's got going on. Of course, Zooey Deschanel does old school singing better (take a listen). Amy Winehouse does it even better than that, even junked up, because she has delicious song broodiness down pat, but then again...

In this song, it just feels like Scarlett could do more with her voice. It just sounds like she's a little bored (and not in that good bored singing way). I just want to reach down in her soul and bring out a little more heart, you know? You don't have to be peppy to be soulful, but a good song does have to come from down deep.
