Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Sometimes it's just so therapeutic to sink into a soft reading chair, position the throw, and melt into a good old-fashioned romance. I'm always looking for new author suggestions.
This is just me, but I tend to avoid the ones in the grocery store with the covers of the blonde femme fatale draped helplessly over the arm of a brooding hunk of muscle. I'm sure a lot of them are really good, but something about the artwork turns me off.
But she wants to branch out, and was asking members to help her add to her romance author list. Here's what they suggested:
Phillipa Gregory "She does historical fiction/romance. What I've read has been loosely based on the Tudors of England. The Other Boleyn Girl, The Queen's Fool, and The Constant Princess were all really good.
Diana Gabaldon "Her Outlander series is a must read."
Paullina Simons "Some of her work is breathtaking."
What are your favorite romance authors? Do men authors write romance as well as women do?
