Here's the infamous video in which President Obama kills a bothersome fly during a TV inteview at the White House. So what was PETA's response?
The animal rights group issued the following statement: "He isn't the Buddha, he's a human being, and human beings have a long way to go before they think before they act." They also sent Obama a catch-and-release humane bug catcher in case he has to deal with future pests. Who knew such a little fly could cause so much controversy!
Ordinarily, I applaud PETA for the work it does to advocate for the ethical treatment of animals. But this story has gotten blown a little out of proportion. My dog ate an ant this morning. Should I feel guilty about the ethical issues involved in this murder?
Have you ever killed a fly?
