Lady Gaga's Real Name & Did You Know She Wrote a Song for Britney?

Did you happen to see Lady Gaga's Poker Face performance on American Idol a couple of weeks ago?

She's crazy cool.

I had never seen her perform before, but I have heard her song and didn't know who sang it. Well, it turns out she's done quite a few things in the music scene before becoming "Lady."

Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta in Yonkers, New York, Lady Gaga went to private Catholic girls school and wrote her first piano ballad at age 13, according to Yahoo's Music Blog.

She was writing songs for the Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears, and New Kids On The Block by the time she was 20.

She was still Stefani then. She began working with producer Rob Fusari and he told her that her voice sounded like her hero, Queen's Freddie Mercury, and so she started going by Lady Gaga, after Queen's song Radio Ga Ga.

Rapper Akon was the one who helped her land her own record deal. I've shaken my booty while cleaning my house to her song Just Dance -- so good!

And get this...she's only 23 and has accomplished so much!

I love POKER FACE!!! I first saw her perform on the Miss Universe Pagent last year! I thought she was kinda cooky and but thought he song JUST DANCE was catchy. NOW SHE A BIG HIT OVER HERE and WORLDWIDE. GO GIRL!!!!

We all like her here - My hubby, myself and our 14 month old son. My hubby bought her CD and our LOVES when we play it. He gets so excited when either 'Just Dance' or 'Poker Face' comes on the radio (although his favorite is Poker Face). When he hears the song he goes over to the stereo speakers and starts dancing - it is very cute. I love to see his little face light up when she comes on the radio.

I love her song Starstruck (it was used in an episode of Fox's Fringe a few episodes ago) poker face is pretty catchy too :)

I saw her on American Idol and fast-forwarded through the second half of the performance. I thought she had absolutely no skill, the song was irritating, and especially compared to the radio version, she's really bad live.
