Monsters vs Aliens
Inspired by 1950's B-movies, Monsters vs Aliens is a hoot! Susan is a bride who becomes a giant. She's locked in a top-secret government facility alongside four other monsters. Susan's fellow prisoners include the blob, the creature from the black lagoon, a mad scientist and a giant bug.
Thank you Dreamworks for giving parents an animated movie that is fun for people over age 5!
Slumdog Millionaire
The best description of Slumdog Millionaire is from a Rolling Stone review:
An illiterate slum kid from Mumbai goes on the local TV version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and comes off like a brainiac. Who wants to see that? Final answer: You do. Slumdog Millionaire has the goods to bust out as a scrappy contender in the Oscar race. It's modern India standing in for a world in full economic spin. It's an explosion of color and light with the darkness ever ready to invade. It's a family film of shocking brutality, a romance haunted by sexual abuse, a fantasy of wealth fueled by crushing poverty.
Rent this movie! You won't be sorry. Here's the trailer if you haven't seen it.
Do either of these movies sound good to you? If not, what is your movie pick this weekend?

Slumdog Millionaire looks like a really good movie! Me and my husband dont watch movies with seductress' (speaking kindly) in them though. And Alien VS Monster reminds me of Madagascar, both seem a bit pathetic to me. Im a fan of Shrek type movies, the ones that have all the sexual hints and referances irritate me.
We'll be dropping the baby off for the first time this weekend with someone else. She's 9 months old and the only one ever to actually babysit her was my dad. So im terrified but were going to see the new X-Men movie <3
Kids didnt like monsters VS aliens..but we did loooooooooooooooove slumdog millionaire they have watched 3 times already and love the soundtrack
I saw Slumdog Millionaire pre-Oscar buzz, and it was phenomenal. I have to say that I really adored it! What do you mean by a seductress movie though?
I want to see Slumdog. But my big movie plans this weekend are watching twilight.
I miss India!!! I really want to see Slumdog!!!!
We took my 2.5 year old, 11.5 year old and 13 year old to see Monsters vs. Aliens and they all three loved it. DH and I enjoyed it too. =)
I took my kids to go see Monsters vs. Aliens last week. They loved it. I actually enjoyed it too. I'm sure that if my DH was here, he would've liked it too and he doesn't really get into children movies at all.
haven't seen slumdog yet but just saw monsters vs. aliens. my son liked it (he's 4 1/2) but my husband and I didn't think much of it. a couple of chuckles here and there but not worth the $.
OH I thought I was going to die, when he was a kid and was trying to see his favorite movie star. (those who have seen it will understand) AHHHHH!! But it's an amazing story, tragic, heartbreaking, and very stirring. I don't think I could sit still during it. You must see it at least once. Not for children though. *****
