Twitter. It's all over the news and in the magazines. People are crazy about Twitter.
What is Twitter?
Twitter is real-time short messaging service that works over multiple networks and devices. Answers must be under 140 characters in length and can be sent via mobile texting, instant message, or the web.
What is the big deal about Twitter?
Simplicity. People want to connect with other people and Twitter makes that simple. Twitter makes it very easy for you to tell other people a quick thought or a brief update about what you are doing.
Twitter is hard to explain because it's a new way to communicate. The New York Times has a good explanation, Twitter: It's What You Make It. The Boston Globe gives details about Twitter in You'll Laugh, You'll Cry, You'll Wonder Why--All in 140 Characters.
The folks on CommonCraft.com made a video explanation of Twitter, you can check it out below.
Do you use Twitter? Do you want to use it? Have you used it and you don't like it? I'm a geek about Twitter but that doesn't mean it is right for everybody. Talk to me!
