Twitter. It's all over the news and in the magazines. People are crazy about Twitter.
mom2twobabes asked other CafeMom members about Twitter. Since I am a Twitter user, I thought I'd weigh in with my opinion and explanation.
What is Twitter?
Twitter is real-time short messaging service that works over multiple networks and devices. Answers must be under 140 characters in length and can be sent via mobile texting, instant message, or the web.
What is the big deal about Twitter?
Simplicity. People want to connect with other people and Twitter makes that simple. Twitter makes it very easy for you to tell other people a quick thought or a brief update about what you are doing.
Twitter is hard to explain because it's a new way to communicate. The New York Times has a good explanation, Twitter: It's What You Make It. The Boston Globe gives details about Twitter in You'll Laugh, You'll Cry, You'll Wonder Why--All in 140 Characters.

I have Twitter but I never use it really. I guess I don't get it yet. Give me time and I am sure I will get the hang of it. Hey! Are you kids okay with you using Twitter? hee hee
Between CafeMom, Myspace, and Facebook ...I have enough to keep up with. Twitter doesn't seem that interesting to me. Sorry.

I just started twitter-ing and I have to say, I just don't get it what all the fuss is...
I love reading everyones Twitter... especially those who update often, its like getting a glimpse on their daily life. For a stay at home mom it is a break for me, I love Twitter... name on there is same as here!
I dont get it, when does this give you physical time with your spouse, kids and even friends. It may be fun, but I think families are lacking closeness as it is, how do we TALK to our kids now, hopefully not thru a twitter.
I love it! I've "met" so many interesting people from all over the world! Other social networking sites don't make it as easy to really network on a global level.
Ironic that someone can find fault with a social networking site.....while on a social networking site..................
I think Twitter is just one more way to communicate with other people, there's no right or wrong. I love it but I know other people that love Facebook. BTW, I am @michellelamar on Twitter.
