When money is tight, entertainment spending is the first thing to go. Keeping the lights on and feeding the family are more important than renting a movie. But I know from experience that cutting back on entertainment and fun can be a drag.

I sure could use some entertainment right now and shopping is at the top of my list!
What is one idea for free family entertainment?
One idea for free family entertainment is staying at home watching movies together.
We like to go to the local park (free) and ride our bikes. They have a nice wooded bike bath that is about 6 miles long. We pack a picnic lunch and stop half way and eat our lunch. Later we let the kids play on the playground.
Some great ideas...
turn out the lights and tell "scary" stories
use chairs and sheets to build forts
play charades
have a talent show
involve your children in the baking and cooking for some fun quality time
crank up the radio, get dressed silly, use brushes as microphones and sing at the top of your lungs while putting on a concert
Free family entertainment for us is playing games, going to the park, there is also a fountain the kids can play in that is open in the summer that is free, also lakes for swimming, taking a walk, baseball, and other outdoor sports are free also.
Free family fun would have to be going to Garden of the Gods! We live in Colorado Springs and in the past month, we have been there twice. We pack a lunch and head over! Its free to do and it isn't that far. The girls really enjoy seeing the big rocks and being out in the fresh air!
For free???? Well we have a family game night every Wednesday. We play a simple board game-trouble, sorry. The kids love it and we are sooo going to try to keep it like that. We have a movie night too but I guess that costs money too, we only spend a little bit-library has movies for $2.50 and we get popcorn and a box of dollar store candy each.
We own a ton of movies, and know others that do, also. Both families made lists of all the movies we each own, and we exchanged lists. Before the weekend comes around, we pick movies from each other's lists. We all get to have a free movie night, and we get to see a new movie each time. It works out great.
We love going to the park and the public library. Both are baby friendly places that dont' cost a penny!
Playing games as a family, reading books, playing outside, going to the park, fashion show with your clothes....there are tons of things you can do! :)
