With the popularity of Twilight and Harry Potter series of books, I find myself sharing books with my teen and tween! The Graveyard Book is a unique book written for the tweens that I have on my reading list!

The Graveyard Book is the story of a boy who is raised in a graveyard by those who live there. The long-dead, ghouls, witches allow him to live among them because he was orphaned, and they adopt him, calling him Nobody or Bod.
It's kind of like Tarzan or The Jungle Book, because the boy is raised by "parents" that are not like him. I don't want to give any spoilers but despite graveyard setting, it's a story of how Bod grows up.

I love love love LOVE Neil Gaiman. He's the literary love of my life. Unfortunately, I have failed him and haven't had a chance to read this yet. But I would still say you need to read it. He wrote Coraline and I bought and read that before I had a kid. I have a couple of his other children's books, too.
I read this book. It was very good, but the villain(s) might be a little scary for kids. My 9 year old read it, and enjoyed it.
My husband is reading this book right now and he loves it! I have started on it, but I am going to read twilight first, but I plan on getting him more Neil Gaiman books!
I do love Neil... American Gods was brilliant. I haven't read this one, though.
That sounds so interesting, I will have to get that book and maybe my son will read it too. I have never heard of Neil Gaiman, what else does he write? Does he have a website?
<333 Neil. He's a really big reason why Amanda Palmer is famous.
Oh I am putting this on my list for my 12 year old son. He loves the unusual like Coraline, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and anything from Tim Burton. He will love it for sure. Thanks for the recommendation.
Wonderful book for the young and old!
I am always looking for books to get my grandchildren. I think my 11 year old and 13 year old grand daughter would love to read this book!
