Chris Brown: He's Sorry. Do You Believe Him?

Chris Brown says he's sorry for what transpired. I guess he must be talking about the incident where he sent this girlfriend to the hospital? A full week after Chris Brown was arrested, Brown's spokesman released a statement. You may want to get a bowl, in case you want to throw up after reading.

Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person.

The statement goes on to say that reports in the media are wrong but I quit reading the statement because I was disgusted. I don't believe he means it and I think he's just trying to save his career.

Healthy Living Buzz talked to a CafeMom member who was a victim of domestic abuse and I received comments and messages after my post last week Chris Brown: Does He Seem Like a Guy Who Hits Women?  From CafeMom readers, I learned more about domestic abuse.

At the end of the day, I don't believe the guy. Here are some of the reasons I don't believe Chris Brown is truly sorry for his attack on Rihanna:

Reason #1 - People Close to Him are Making Excuses

Chris Brown's dad says there are two sides to every story. Please! When a man beats a woman badly enough to go to the hospital and her screams are so loud that the police are called, I want to know which side of the story Brown's father is talking about!

Reason #2 - Pointing Fingers

Chris Brown says the reports are wrong, and media is wrong about the incident. When people undergo true life altering change, they typically take full responsibility for their actions, they don't point fingers at others. I understand legal obligations but the language of this statment was weak.

Reason #3 - Why Wait a Week?

Why did he wait a week after his arrest to issue a statement?  Do you think losing a sponsorship deal with Wrigley and being taken off the Got Milk ad campaign had anything to do with it?

TeacherMom01 doesn't understand Chris Brown's statement about the incident because he doesn't really say anything. She asked other CafeMom members about Brown's statement, and you can go to her question Why is Chris Brown Saying He's Sorry? and tell her what you think.

Talk to me ladies. Step up and have your opinion counted on this subject. Is Chris Brown sorry? Or is he just trying to save his bacon?
