Gavin De Becker's Protecting the Gift: Keeping Children and Teenagers Safe is terrifying book for mothers to read but it's one of the best books I've ever read as a mother.

Big Kid Buzz has a post about When Children Hide Child Molestation. Immediately after reading Cafe Kierna's post, you need to get this book. Buy it, borrow it, go to the library...get your hands on Protecting the Gift. If there is one book you read as a mother, it's this one.

De Becker shows us that a mother's intuition can be the most powerful weapon we have to protect our children from danger.

If you have a daughter, put Rosalind Wiseman's Queen Bees and Wanna Bees on your must read list!

The movie Mean Girls was based on the Queen Bee book and it's one of the most important books out there for helping your daughter navigate through the shark infested waters of modern elementary, middle and high school.

One of my friends has a pre-school daughter experiencing mean girl issues! I am not trying to scare anyone but the climate out in the world for our girls is hostile and we need to prepare.

As the mom of a tween and a teen, I visit Big Kid Buzz daily! Poor Cafe Kierna got more than she bargained for working with me, since I am always asking her follow up questions about her posts!

Have you read either of these books? If so, do you feel they are must reads for moms? Do you have any books that you feel strongly that every mom should read?
