Uhhhhhh, what? Maybe I was half asleep during Andi Dorfman's season of The Bachelorette (for good reason), but am I the only person who had no clue that new Bachelor Chris Soules has been engaged before?
Yep. As far as I can remember, he never mentioned it on the show, but it seems that the farmer almost had a wife at some point in his past.
Supposedly he was set to wed but then broke off the engagement "months before he was expected to walk down the aisle."
Oh, and while his relationship with his fiancée was "good," apparently it wasn't "great," which is presumably why he signed up to try and find said greatness on national television.
And while plenty of dudes have been in serious relationships in the past where they almost wound up getting married, I can't help but wonder how well this bodes for Chris getting down on one knee at the final rose ceremony this time around.

I mean, we can probably assume he dated his old fiancée for longer than a few weeks, and he still wasn't confident about marrying her. How in the heck is he supposed to be all gung-ho to get hitched after only going on a few fantasy dates?
Maybe he'll get lucky and fall head over heels at first sight, but let's be honest -- the odds of finding your one true love in a matter of weeks are pretty slim to none, especially if you're a guy who is as serious as Chris when it comes to matters of the heart.
I guess we'll have to wait and see how his season pans out. But something tells me farmer Chris may wind up leaving The Bachelor as a dude with a girlfriend, not a future wife.
Do you think Chris being engaged before is a bad sign?
