Watching Beyonce and Jay Z on the VMAs made it all very clear that the couple we all love are doing just fine -- no divorce filings happening there. At least that's what we were led to believe. There was the love, the admiration, the kiss, the hug, and seeing the three of them as a family with sweet little Blue Ivy made their marriage seem solid as a rock. But as we all know, there is a lot of deception in Hollywood. Things don't always appear as they seem and I don't just mean because of the makeup, push-up bras, and body-slimming undergarments.
I'm talking about Jedi mind tricks. Beyonce's dad Mathew Knowles is saying that the scandals surrounding Bey and Jay were all part of their master plan. WHAT?!
I don't want to say that Mr. Knowles is lying. I just can't believe that A) Beyonce and Jay Z are pretending they are having issues, or B) if they are pretending, Beyonce's dad is outing them.
It all was revealed when Papa Knowles was on the Houston radio show "Roula & Ryan" on 104.1 KRBE. He was asked about the elevator incident with Solange and Jay Z as well as if there were marriage issues with Bey and Jay. His response was that the whole thing was a "Jedi mind trick" so people would be even more interested in them and therefore drive up ticket sales for their On the Run tour. Oh my goodness y'all. Have we been duped?
If you recall, Mr. Knowles was once Beyonce's manager, so he's got an inside scoop on what happens behind the scenes. He said:
I know, because we’ve done this. From experience, there’s a tour going on. So you sometimes have to ignite that tour. It’s called a Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot.
Ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200%.
No way! Could it be? Is he trying to say it's a Jedi mind trick so we are tricked into believing that everything is okay? That maybe it wasn't okay and now it is and now he's trying this wacky tactic to make us think we were all fooled? Is he lying about that? Or were they lying to us about these issues, the elevator attack, the whole thing, and everything was really peachy and they just wanted to make us all even more interested in them so we buy more albums and head to the concert?
I'm so confused!
I want to believe they are a family just like the rest of us. That they fight sometimes. Things get a little weird sometimes. But they love each other no matter what. That last part I realize doesn't happen for everyone, but I hope it's true for them.
What do you think of this Jedi mind trick business?
