When he isn't being handcuffed for taking out his anger on other people, including girlfriends he is supposed to treat well, singer Chris Brown can be found partying. And hosting parties. And getting shot at while hosting these parties.
A terrifiying incident took place at a pre-MTV Video Music Awards party hosted by Brown last night in Los Angeles. Gunmen reportedly shot at Brown and hit his manager, Suge Knight, who -- along with two more partygoers -- was seriously injured.
Just when we thought Brown had settled down a bit -- hey, he was even apparently talking about having babies with girlfriend Karrueche Tran and it's been at least 10 minutes since he was last arrested -- we've learned that he was reportedly the target of a shooting that took place in the crowded nightclub where his pre-awards show bash was being held.
Granted, he's not to blame for the criminal behavior of other people, but boy, does he seem to attract his share of drama.
Anyway, shots were reportedly fired in the club after 1 a.m. Knight, who is the CEO of Black Kapital Records, was reportedly shot six times and is recovering in the ICU. He was one of three people -- including a 19-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man -- who were shot, and at least one of whom is in critical condition. Although it's being reported that bullets were intended for Brown, he wasn't hit. At about 6 a.m., Brown took to Twitter and posted, "It's disappointing that we as a society can't have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bulls**t."
The gunmen have not been arrested. We have no idea who they are, if or how they are connected to Brown, or what would motivate them to do this. It's worth mentioning that this isn't the first time Knight was shot -- he was also a shooting victim at a pre-VMA's party hosted by Kanye West in 2005. There are rumors that he was somehow linked to the fatal shooting of rapper Tupac Shakur.
It will be interesting to hear what, if anything, Rihanna has to say about this incident and whether it will be brought up at tonight's MTV Video Music Awards.
Why do you suspect Brown was the alleged target of these shootings?
