On Sunday's episode of RHONJ, Nicole Napolitano and Amber Marchese finally sat down for their long-overdue, post-hair-pulling/cat-fighting chat. And, shockingly, it went well(ish). Judging by both ladies' demeanor and body language when they first arrived for their tete-a-tete, it seemed like things were going to go horribly, and there wasn't a chance in hell that they'd make up. But after a few insults were lobbed, the girls actually made Housewives history and acted like mature women who very well may move forward with their friendship.
Hat tip, m'ladies.
Right off the bat, Amber came out swinging. She initially didn't appear to have an ounce of remorse for gossiping about someone who was supposed to be her friend to Melissa Gorga, but shortly into their conversation, she softened a bit -- as did Nicole. The one weird/seriously rude thing Amber brought up to Nicole was her relationship with Bobby. Amber basically told Nicole that she thought her relationship with Bobby was a sham and that he didn't really love her. I'm guessing there was some serious editing involved here, as Amber didn't have nearly as strong a reaction as one would expect her to have. She was basically like, "Things are great with us, the end." So not an Amber response.
The girls ended their convo with a hug and plans to try to move ahead with their friendship. It wasn't the most dramatic of Housewives moments, but it actually was nice to see two grown women on Bravo display the ability to be mature and take responsibility for their actions. For the first time in ages, I didn't feel like I needed to take a shower after watching the show. 'Twas nice.
Who knows what will happen with Amber and Nicole? To be honest, if I were a betting woman, I'd say there's more drama to come. But for now, let's all just enjoy their reconciliation ... since, odds are, it won't last.
Who do you think was in the wrong: Amber or Nicole?
