The gorgeous Lucy Hale has graced the cover of Cosmopolitan's September 2014 issue and again opened up about her experience auditioning for Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey. Is it just me, or does she spill just a little bit more every time she mentions it?
The last time the Pretty Little Liars actress dished on what it was like reading for Ana, she just said it was "uncomfortable." This time she's gone into the teensiest bit more detail, saying it was "very, very sexual."
OK, obviously it was uncomfortable because it was sexual, because hey, it's a book revolving around BDSM. There's a Red Room of Pain, people -- of course the script is going to be sexual.
Anyway, the gorgeous 25-year-old was passed over to play virginal Ana opposite Jamie Dornan's smoldering Christian Grey, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have anything to say about it.
Expanding upon her earlier comments about the audition being an "uncomfortable" process, Hale said, "It's exactly what you thought it would be ... a big monologue but very, very sexual ... there were some things that I was so embarrassed to be reading out loud."
She said she read the lines with gusto, though -- none of this half-hearted stuff from her. "It's one of those things where you have to commit wholeheartedly," she explained, "or you're going to make a fool of yourself."
There may be one very good reason why she's glad she didn't get the role though -- her dad. She shared a screen shot of a text between her and her dad after he saw her sexy Cosmo cover.
Ha! That totally sounds like something my dad would say too.
Would you have been comfortable reading Ana's very, very sexual lines in an audition?
