One Direction's Liam Payne Takes on Fat Shamers in Instagram Smackdown

Liam PayneBefore today the only One Direction member I could identify was that one guy, you know, whatshisname with the floppy hair and the pants that accidentally got washed on hot. But now not only do I know who Liam Payne is, I'm officially a fan.

I mean, not, like, a fan fan. One Direction fans seem ... pretty hardcore. I'm just saying that Liam Payne's public reaction to people criticizing him for looking "fat" in a series of paparazzi photos is seriously great -- and surprisingly mature, particularly considering how young and freakishly popular he is. Justin Bieber, I hope you're taking notes.

When I say "surprisingly mature," I'm not really referring to his first Instagram photo, which he posted after being hit with nasty body-related comments after photos surfaced of him on a yacht off the southern French coast with his girlfriend.

He added,

I mean OH MY GOD I'm just so fat these days I think I need help! quick someone take the cookie jar

That's sort of funny, but what I really like is his follow-up post, in which he included a screenshot of his perfectly normal BMI (22.8, for the record), and this statement:

Now just because I'm sick of seeing this everyday so I just want to clear up what the media do to people these days. Is it wrong to be normal? Or do I have to look like an Olympic swimmer just to get your approval into the cool kids or can I accept that the person I truly love thinks I'm the coolest kid in town anyway? Think I'll vote the second one ;) enjoy your day people

Dude, that is awesome. He hardly needed to share his BMI details because anyone who isn't a complete idiot can see that he's not overweight in those photos, but I love that he pointed out how insane celebrity body expectations have become. I don't even know anything about this kid, but he already seems 1,000 times more likable than some ab-obsessed douche who takes every opportunity to show off his diet-sizzurp-whittled torso. Bravo to you, Mr. Payne! Now go have that cookie.

What do you think of Liam Payne's Instagram comeback?

I actually do not know a lot about Liam. However, I think that people's opinion about another person's healthy weight loss or healthy weight gain does not have to be responded to.

It appears to me that on top of the look that may be obtained through weight loss, there are more advantages that a person may get. In fact, I have learned that losing weight may have a positive health effect on: help lowering the risk of kidney stones, knee pain, it may help lower blood pressure, help regarding the risk of cardiovascular disease, and reduce bad cholesterol.

In case you have been searching for a solution that is not about being enslaved by a diet, here is a page you may check out: specialfatloss.com

I think that healthily losing weight for the long term is what truly matters and not being overwhelmed by a weight loss program may help in achieving that.

Screw you TiSecretCB! This article is about fat shaming and all you can do is talk about losing weight! Get off the fat shaming and I am by no means fat but even I took offense at your post.

Sadly there are always going to be rude people out there making rude comments. This band alone has taken a few hits from others ( my daughter is a huge fan and talks about them all the time) From Louie and Liam's weight to Niall's teeth. All of this guys have handle each negative comment with maturity.
