Man. This week's episode of It's All Relative got to me -- in a good way! Maybe I'm PMSing? I mean, I don't think I am, but I'm quasi-embarrassed to admit that Leah Remini's truth bombs at the end of her New York adventure made my lip quiver something fierce. At the end of a business trip to the city, her husband Angelo Pagan surprised her with a dinner with her biological father George.
The two are not exceptionally close, but what Leah had to say about seeing him was totally perfect. Rather than waste her time resenting her father for flying in and out of her life, she appreciates the moments she does have with him. She talked about existing in the moment with him, acknowledging that he's giving her all he can, and she's doing the same. I'll tell ya, familial relationships are CHALLENGING, and the insight Leah has about her father is what so many people go through their whole lives not realizing.
For a person with so many quirks (she is terrified of flying and travels with sanitary wipes to clean down hotel rooms), Leah seems to be in a surprisingly zen place when it comes to her relationships with other people. For all of her faux ball-busting, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to deduce that once Leah's in your corner, you've got a friend for life.
Here's hoping she keeps some of that love and patience in mind when she gets home and discovers that George and Vicki let Sadie wreak havoc on her property and drain her reserves of wine. I love that the production crew called them out on breaking Leah's rules! The two parental figures acted like guilty children and it was adorable.
Have you ever had any disasters happen in your home when you were away travelling?
