Maksim Chmerkovskiy & Kirstie Alley: The Real Story Behind Their Feud

maksim, kirstie alleyThere are plenty of strange celebrity feuds out there. Just this week, Orlando Bloom tried to pummel Justin Bieber. The Kardashian girls all lashed out at brother Rob's ex Adrienne Bailon for talking trash about him. Now it seems, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and his former DWTS partner Kirstie Alley are at odds ... and for the most bizarre reason.

When they were first paired up on Dancing With the Stars, they appeared to be a match made in ballroom heaven. She was as sassy as he was sexy. There was definitely some sort of chemistry at play.

Now, however, he says she isn't speaking to him. The reason? His rumored relationship with Jennifer Lopez. Why? Get this: JLo is best friends with Leah Remini. Leah is an ex-Scientologist, and when she left the religious group, Alley (a diehard Scientologist herself) lashed out calling her a "bigot" for remarks she made against the church.

That is why, Maks says, Alley is giving him the cold shoulder. She supposedly believes he's becoming friends with the wrong people. "She stopped getting along with me," he said on Watch What Happens. "We had a great relationship ... But I got a message now that I am associating with other people that she can't be associated with, I am no longer to be spoken with, and sorry, but it is what it is."

Crazy, right? It's not like he's hanging out with killers and drug pushers. Maks adds, "It's sad that we've gone through so much together, and I feel like I've helped her. And this is where we're at now. But I still think the world of her, and I wish her all the best." What a gentleman. A lot of other celebs may not have handled the snub so well.

What do you think about Kirstie's decision to cut Maks out of her life?
