Domestic Violence on Reality TV Gets Too Real (VIDEO)

Tanisha and CliveWhoa. Tell me what you think here, viewers. First, domestic violence should never be condoned at any time, in any venue, including reality television. However, if you are shooting a reality show, and something happens and is dealt with accordingly, do you go ahead and show it? Today's exclusive episode below takes on relationships and marriage from two different angles, the first with FYI's Married at First Sight, episode 3, and the second with episode 7 of Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars. One guess as to where the violence erupted, but there was a lot of hope as well. Let's discuss.

First, let's go to a happy place, if perhaps an uncomfortable one. Could you imagine marrying a stranger you've never laid eyes on, and going immediately from the wedding to a hotel suite where you share a bathroom AND a bed? Then traveling with them on a honeymoon? That's what these three couples did, and it was all documented on camera. Well, actually, watching Monet and Vaughn, I'm convinced the cameras must have missed something.

Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner

In today's episode I break down the differences between 24/7 reality filming and documentary, why (thankfully) Married at First Sight is NOT the Housewives, and the masterful storytelling of Doug and Jamie's journey. Plus, why Cortney and Jason are making me anxious.

Next, over at Marriage Boot Camp, the couples are all participating in exercises involving hard choices. Both Gretchen Rossi and Trista Sutter surprised me, and my own husband Simon provided me with some great insight regarding Traci Braxton and her husband Kevin.

Finally, there's major behind-the-scenes discussion of Tanisha Thomas, her husband Clive Muir, and their relationship. What led them to the show, some insightful editing, and the big question ... when should producers step in? Watch today's exclusive video now!

Last week was the first eplsode of marriage bootcamp I watched. I was shocked and appalled with the way Tanisha treated Clive.  Why would he put up with such abuse. He needs to divorce her immediately.

hello friends, this is unbelievable but a true story. I became frustrated in my relationship and after trying several methods i went online to seek help there i saw a post on how a lady got her husband back and i decided to try this prophet that helped her because my marriage was failing. truly speaking, i never believed in spiritual work or spell casting but  i reluctantly tried him because i was desperate and had no other option. To my greatest surprise this prophet helped me and my relationship is now the best you can imagine. just as he promised my husband now treats me like a queen even when he had told me before he doesn't love me anymore just the other day my husband bought me a rose flower and this days he does things I had forgotten existed in relationship. well, i can not say much but if you are passing through difficulties in your relationship try him here is his email of a truth he really helps again his email his in deed prophet I am grateful

I couldn't get through more than a couple episodes of the Celebrity Marriage Bootcamp. 1.) Because it wasn't in HD and looked all grainy. 2.) Because it was really boring. And that's coming from a RHOC, Bridezillas, and Bachelor fan.

I completely agree with your comments. Especially with watching how Tanisha verbally, psychologically and physically attacks Clive. I just finished watching the whole season including the finale tonight. It would have been an excellent show all around if Tanisha was not there. Clive deserves so much better than that abuse for 8 years. Especially splitting up with him right after getting married. What is that?

Marriage at First Sight series so far is excellent but I agree something is off with Vaughn. I think it is too many years in the military & being single. An example is them on the boat where he wanted her to cuddle next to him. She didn't feel comfortable or safe but reluctantly gave in. He expect that if he tells or asks her something she needs to respond in the way he wants without delay. So she doesn't pick up on what he's telling or asking of her so she feels like every things great, while he's feeling rejected because she's not immediately responding to his wants or needs. It will be a major hurdle between the two of them because though she wants a man to be a man I don't think she understands fully what that means in relation to him. Doug and Jamie, she's falling in love with him, he's down to earth & can make her laugh. It will work if she gets over herself. Cortney and Jason, are amazing together but we will have to see how it works out further down the road.
