Surprising little girls with puppies for their birthdays and having it captured on video is a thing. It's a thing on YouTube, at least, but it's such a good thing, I think it should be a 24-hour network. Rupert Murdoch wants to buy Time Warner, but his initial $80 billion offer was rebuffed. Reportedly, Murdoch is still gunning for Time Warner because he wants influence in China.
But heck, the puppy surprise video genre -- this stuff is universal! I dare any nation not to cry when they see little girls given puppies when they don't expect it. Have you seen these? Try not to melt from the cuteness.
Here's just one of the fine primetime shows we'd have. This video called "Doggy Meltdown," which has gotten almost 1.5 million views in one week, would run for 22 minutes on a loop, only breaking for commercials.
I wrote and produced on-air promos for Comedy Central, Lifetime TV, and others. Here's the promo I'd script for this new exciting network:
LITTLE GIRLS. SURPRISED BY THEIR HEART'S DESIRE. 24/7. NO OTHER CHANNEL BRINGS YOU THE RAW EMOTIONS OF LITTLE GIRLS WHO'VE WANTED A PUPPY ... FOR YEARS. CALL YOUR CABLE OR SATELLITE PROVIDER TO SUBSCRIBE TO LGPRVTV NOW. -- Little Girls Puppy Reaction video channel promo
Here's the best part: Advertisers would be lining up. Is it family-friendly? Check. Reality? Check. Would the parents not be thrilled to get a dog and get some hard cold cash for their kid's college fund? Check. Check. Check.

Basically this channel idea is no-fail. Gawker has a timeline of failed TV networks and none of those was this. Heck, for sweeps, we could even branch out to little girls surprised by kittens! Although the crying there might be scratch or allergy-related.
But seriously, folks (and by folks, I mean media billionaires like Murdoch), let's do this.
Would you watch little girls getting surprised by puppies 24/7?
