'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Recap: Joe Giudice Can't Even Say the Word 'Prison'

joe giudiceAll right, there's no way of sugar-coating this: Sunday's episode of RHONJ? Snooze-fest. It was one of those non-episodes Bravo likes to throw in once or twice every season. Sure, it was entertaining to watch and a perfectly relaxing, blissfully mind-numbing way to unwind after a busy weekend, but good lordy, nothing happened. We saw the ginormous Christmas trees of Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga -- and the ungodly amount of gifts they gave their children (including a cute puppy for the Giudice girls). But other than that? Not a heck of a lot going on.

That said, though, we'd be remiss if we didn't discuss a couple of things. Let us chat.

First off, I will say it's nice to see Melissa and Teresa finally getting along. Sure, their arguing and bickering was what made up a good portion of the drama on the show last season, but I certainly don't think I'm alone in thinking that it became far more nails-on-a-chalkboardy than entertaining. Thank god that's over (for now).

Two, Nicole Napolitano's Christmas gift from her boyfriend: Need I say more? I'm not sure if you should immediately marry the man who buys you a wine bottle holder shaped like a stiletto or run for the hills. Amazing.

Three, anyone else get a little verklempt when Dina Manzo and her daughter, Lexi, went on a lone holiday walk through the woods and cast stones into the lake? They're so cute together, and it's hard not to feel bad for Dina, being that she's going through a divorce and losing her daughter to college at the same time. Hopefully, Lexi will get into NYU so she's not too far from Dina.

And lastly, there was the final scene, which, to be honest, seemed rather rehearsed, of Joe and Teresa sitting beside the fire, discussing the many "what-if"s of their future. It was nice to see Joe show a little emotion (even if it was just for the cameras), but the dude really needs to learn to say "prison" as opposed to "vacation," "going away," "college," etc. Time to face the music, buddy. You do the crime, you do the time. Or at least, you know, talk about the time.

Lame, Bravo. Hopefully, next week will bring on the drama!

What did you think of tonight's episode? Total snoozefest, right?

Yes, it was a great opportunity to take a little nap. As for Joe: His euphemisms for prison speak directly to the inherent denial and rationalizing that got him into trouble in the first place. Blech. It is lovely that his family supports him, but they all should acknowledge their understanding that illegal activity demands consequence. ( I mean, "prison.")

What's odd to me about Joe and Teresa is that he does not seem to want to be affectionate with her and every time I see them trying to kiss or hug, it all seems forced.  I think Joe would leave her in a heartbeat if Teresa wasn't the reason they were "famous" and making money.  I agree that everyone seems to be in a state of denial regarding the possibility of him going to jail but I truly hope that the denial does not extend to them not making the necessary plans in the event of that happening.  Side note:  I don't actually think so but Dina's sister had me wondering for a brief minute if they were twins!  Those genes are pretty strong because the mother and both daughters so strongly resemble!

I'M TOTALLY TIRED OF THERESA ACTING AND SPEAKING OF HER "ORDEAL" LIKE IT IS SOMETHING TOTALLY FOREIGN AND UNEXPECTED THAT THEY ARE IN HOT WATER FOR FRAUDULENT BEHAVIOR. LIKE SHE NEVER ANTICIPATED HAVING ALL THIS TURMOIL IN HER LIFE. WHY WOULDN'T SHE...IF SHE'S AWARE SHE DID THE CRIMES...SURMISE THAT IF THEY GOT CAUGHT...THEY'D BE IN REALLY HOT WATER? THEY STRIKE ME AS REALLY LOW CLASS ILLITERATES AND HE IS ESPECIALLY DUMB...THANKING HIS FAMILY FROM THE BALCONY FOR COMING THRU IN HARD TIMES. WHO DOES THAT...LIKE ITS A COMMAND PERFORMANCE BEING HONORED BY THE WHOLE CLAN...FOR BEING A FREAKING CONVICT...? STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES.

Guilty. Go to jail. Just like any other criminal! They are still living high off money they don't have! And sorry to say this their kids are spoiled mouthy brats......malania needs a good smack across her rude little mouth. I love kids but these four I can't stand towatch or hear!
