Leah Calvert’s Daughter With Special Needs Makes Inspiring Confession

Ali SimmsLeah Calvert's daughter Aliannah Simms never ceases to inspire and amaze us. We've watched this 4-year-old's journey ever since her mama was pregnant with her and her twin sister Aleeah back in the day on MTV's 16 & Pregnant. Then all the tears on Teen Mom 2 as Leah and her ex-husband Corey Simms struggled for answers about her medical condition.

It turns out Ali has a rare form of the degenerative disease muscular dystrophy, but even with all the odds stacked against her, she has defied them all. Doctors once thought she'd never even walk, but Leah says this little dollface not only does that -- she runs!

Leah shared Ali's latest ambition on Twitter Monday night, and even though it's a lofty goal, we think this gal might just have enough determination to make it happen.

The reality star shared:

Aww! That's so sweet! And it's even more special when you realize that it says a lot about the level of care Ali has received for her special needs throughout her life. She's been in and out of hospitals her entire life and seen by countless doctors, specialists, and other medical professionals.

Being "sick" can be super scary, but it's obvious that Ali has only been exposed to doctors who truly care for and about her. No kid would want to be something they were scared of.

And how adorable is it that Aleeah wants to be a nurse and stick with her sister? I'm willing to bet those two have toy doctor kits they love playing with. Way to go, Leah, on encouraging your girls to dream big dreams.

Do you think Ali's career ambitions say a lot about how well she's been taken care of in her life?

I recall Leah started college to become a nurse. I don't know if she lasted a semester before she dropped school. I hope her children can achieve their dreams. Also, kids need a good example. Ali can achieve becoming a doctor. You go girl!!

Leah, you need to take the bull by the horns and CALL THE INSURANCE AGENCY ON YOUR OWN AND ADVOCATE FOR YOUR CHILD. Clearly Corey carry's the insurance, but there is on reason why you can't call the insurance company on your own, you are the childs mother, you have physical custody of the child, therefore you should be able to communicate with them.  My ex-spouse covered my children, and you can be certain that I was in commnication with them on my own, not through my ex.
