Mila Kunis isn't your typical Hollywood starlet. You won't find the down-to-earth 30-year-old actress strutting down the red carpet on her day off, and she isn't updating her social media accounts day and night. In fact, she doesn't use social media at all (maybe because her fiancé Ashton Kutcher does enough tweeting for the both of them). She keeps her private life relatively private.
So it comes as no surprise that when it comes to her wedding plans, she hasn't given us much ... until now.
In the August issue of W magazine, she said she actually wants to get married in secret:
I never wanted to get married. From the age of 12, I prepared my parents for no marriage. Then things changed -- I found the love of my life. Now my theory on weddings is: Don't invite anyone. Do it privately and secretly. My parents are okay with that. They're just excited that I said yes.
So no televised wedding, no cover of People magazine. Not such great news for us, but it definitely makes sense for them.
The high-profile couple have managed to keep almost everything on the down-low. They got engaged without making a big deal about it. "We were able to keep this private for two months -- two months without anybody knowing. I think everybody assumed we've been engaged for so long that I was wearing the ring in public for two months," Kunis said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. They were also able to keep Kunis' pregnancy quiet until it was too noticeable to ignore.
The couple's low-key way of handling the public profile of their relationship isn't just refreshing in the era of celebrities over-sharing pretty much everything, but this is a good sign for things to come. Mila and Ashton's partnership seems to be about Mila and Ashton, not about fame or using their relationship for the sake of publicity.
Do you find it refreshing that they keep their relationship as private as they can?
