Jessa Duggar & Ben Seewald's Overseas Trip Has Engagement Written All Over It

Jessa Duggar, Ben SeewaldCould another Duggar engagement and wedding be right around the corner? Jill Duggar Dillard just got back from her honeymoon with her new husband, Derick Dillard, and now her younger sister, Jessa Duggar, is jetting off with Ben Seewald, the young man she's been courting since last summer.

Wait, what? One of the Duggar daughters is going on an overnight trip with a boy? Isn't this the family famous for saving their first kisses for their wedding days? I mean, the family doesn't even refer to Ben as Jessa's boyfriend, but they're sanctioning a trip together? They have. A mission trip, that is.

According to the Duggars' blog, Jessa, Ben, Jinger Duggar, and some other family members and friends are embarking on a 12-day trip to Central America with S.O.S. Ministries. The "Seekers of Souls" mission will visit Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador to pursue "those who are hopeless so they may become believers of our Lord, [which] has become our vision and passion in following both the example of Christ and Paul."

OK, so it's clearly on the up-and-up, but still, I wouldn't be surprised if this trip changes their relationship status for good. There have been some rumors that the pair is already engaged, but nothing official has been announced, and Jessa's ring finger is still bare.

Not that anything improper would happen -- the two decided on a list of boundaries at the onset of their courtship and shared them with their families and close friends so they could all be on the same page.

But Jim Bob himself has said he views these missions trips as "life changing" events, and you have to admit, Central America would make a beautiful backdrop for a proposal.

Do you think Ben will put a ring on it soon, if he hasn't (secretly) already?

If he does, hopefully the family won'rt have to chaperone the enegagment.  Jill's engagment was great, but it would have been more special to her if her younger sisters weren't there.

Jill and Derick said they loved the younger sisters being there. So for them it was special. When my husband asked me to marry him my whole family was there. Its not an intimate moment for some people. These young women want the chaperones as they give them accountability. Obviously they're all adults if they didn't want to court and wanted to whore around they could.

I don't understand if the Duggers are so well versed in God and the Bible and the girls know their familys values (and they are adults) then why does the parents feel they need a chaperone? Where's the trust in knowing u raised ur child to know right from wrong. Not to stir up a controversy here..I hope both these girls wait to start a family and enjoy life with their husbands first.

MommyHuman: I disagree. When I got engaged my family was there. It was a low key event, just a no reason family dinner. I loved that my family got to be there for that. I had no clue and it was a great evening. Given how close the Duggars are I think she was likely glad some of her family was near.

There is something very flipant about Jessa. She often make sarcastic comments and doesn't seem as "sweet" as the other older girls. Her boyfriend is very young.18/1?...a few years younger than Jessa and they both seem very immature and out of touch. way to yound to commit to a lifetime together.
But, I guess that is pretty much how life is at the Duggers

Sorta agree with gracie. They are both young ... immature. Realize these gals have in lived in a bubble regarding "boys" ... they never dated. So, very strange to most of us.

I have to agree with gracie. All the Duggar Family are dear people, but, there is something about Jessa that I feel is not ready..I have seen her be sarcastic and immature. She is ready for marriage yet. Ben, is so, young , I know that age does not matter, My, Mother was 18 months older than my Father. There marriage worked. They say women are more mature than men, if that is true? I think Jessa, needs to grow up.Sarcastic remarks from her needs to be reined in. Ben, act's older for his age and, he is 18. I wish them well but, I see a Fall Wedding this Year. I am also concerned with Jana she is the oldest of all the girls.something is really off there. Jana, Jill, Jessa . May, Happiness and Joy be with them.
