'RHONY's Kristen Taekman May Have Faked That Tearful Breakdown (VIDEO)

Will someone get these Real Housewives of New York City out of Montana and back to New York where they belong? It's season 6, episode 17 and it's going to happen, and from the coming attractions, we'll see that we get Aviva Drescher back as well. Meanwhile, I've got LOTS of behind-the-scenes commentary about what it actually MEANS to be a hostess of a trip on a reality show, plus a healthy debate over whether newbie Kristen Taekman is in over her head or fooling us all. Watch today's exclusive video for all the dish!

Personally, now that we're a good eight years into the Real Housewives franchise, newcomers should do their homework before signing up to join the madness. There's no such thing as friendship loyalty, simply because it gets in the way of the business of making a drama-filled show. In today's episode below, I explain what you CAN expect from long-term relationships when they are televised in this way and give you a couple of options for Kristen's behavior. AND viewer questions about hair, makeup, and sleeping. AND why Ramona Singer called herself the hostess.

Next, it's on to my continued expansion into new shows, with Celebrity Wife Swap on ABC. I've been meaning to watch this show for weeks and finally got to see the episode with Penn Jillette and Judy Gold and their families. WOW. I deconstruct the process, what I saw, and what really, really bugged me -- and yes, I wind up arguing with myself. In this episode in particular, I think a HUGE cheap shot was taken. Can you guess what it is? Watch now!

Do you think Kristen's waterworks were a big act?

Kristen's whiny voice and constant crying is getting very old!  I don't believe she's being real but it seems as if she's not crying or whining she doesn't have a story line. I find myself fast forwarding through her sense's. I wish someone would ask her if she'd like some cheese and crackers with her whine??? I's rather watch a show with Lu Ann, Heather and Carole. Ramona is hard to watch and Sonja is a sexual preditor and Aviva is an out right disgusting human being like her father.

Kristen is not a genius. She made that really clear in her opening tag line. She is a whiny b#)chy housewife who seems to be a spoiled brat or totally ignored by her husband she will take any kind of attention. Good, bad or whiny she has got to go. Hey, maybe she wanted to have a "Scary Island/Kelly breakdown. Oops I meant break through!! I love watching Ramona take over. She is good at being a hostess. At least it wasn't Luann. It's never any fun with a cabin nazi. We all remember Luann in Morocco. Not nice, not fun not a hostess at least not for you, Sonja and Ramona. Oh ya, I have been hearing Ramona and Mario are back together? ,Is it true?

I have to say all the times I have commented or asked you a question, on yhis page, my post have been removed.  I''m not mean or nasty. and I keep my cursing to a minimum. Whats the real deal??? Do I annoy you. Someone let me know why I have been removed from your YouTube comments.

I love Pen & Teller but I hate Pen Jillette. He's very obnoxious. He's also kind of a mysogynist. It's kind of what happens with Bill Maher, whose very smart and witty but at times can be arrogant with what he believes, particularly when it comes to religion. For the record, I'm an atheist and I have profound respect for religion and people's beliefs. What I don't respect is fanatism, which strangely enough is the extreme that Mr. Jillette, Bill maher, and others fall into.

Error: wrote Pen instead of Penn...please excuse any other mistakes, English is my second language.

Alex, I enjoyed your comments about reality TV scenes showing individuals sleeping.  I've wondered from time to time whether those scenes were staged or not; I usually assumed they were staged because the makeup looked too perfect, as you pointed out.

I also appreciated your comments about how most atheists are not disrespectful jackasses; and your remarks about  adult behavior being a model for children.

Perhaps you've already addressed this topic in earlier blogs, but I'm wondering if you wouldn't comment on the showing of children's bratty behavior on reality TV.  It baffles me how any responsible parent would permit his/her child to act out just for the sake of the cameras; therefore, I assume that in fact reality-TV parents who allow their children's bad behavior in front of the cameras see nothing wrong and allow it when not filming, too.  But is that really true?  Are there reality-TV parents who discipline their children off-camera but allow bratty behavior only while filming?

if #RHNY is back another season, you know Kristen will be back only b/c Brandi and Heather are friends with her.

I was always a fan of the NY housewives, but this season I really cannot connect with them. It all seems very forced, staged. More so than usual. The Montana trip has gone on for weeks now, and is not entertaining. I want to be entertained. Even the housewives look bored. They look like they are going through the motions due to contractual obligations and can't really be bothered anymore. And has anyone noticed during the interviews the wives look like they are being prompted more than usual as to what to say. "Book-gate" also went on for weeks and was not fun to watch. Avivas father is not watchable either, Although I do like Casey. I think they need to rethink the next season.
