Nicki MinajOh no she didn't! Except maybe she did. During a very weird acceptance speech at the BET Awards Sunday night, Nicki Minaj may have passive-aggressively thrown some shade at fellow artist and up-and-comer Iggy Azalea.

Minaj was accepting her fifth consecutive award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, beating out Iggy, Angel Haze, Charli Baltimore, and Eve. At some point during her bizarre and rambly acceptance speech, she dropped this line: "What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is, when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it."

OK ... that could mean anything. Except then she followed it up with, "No, no, no, no shade!" which of course is exactly what you'd say after throwing thinly veiled shade.

Those in the know (AKA the folks over at Gawker) point out that it's "widely rumored that Iggy Azalea uses ghostwriters, including her mentor T.I."

Geez, Nick, give the girl a break! You won. Five times. You're finally a household name. Yes, Iggy has exploded onto the scene in the past few months with her earworm "Fancy," but there's no guaranteeing her staying power.

It's just unclassy to diss your fellow female artists in an acceptance speech. The fact that you beat them should be good enough, mmmkay?

Besides, even if Iggy's rhymes are ghostwritten, who cares? Did no one see Coyote Ugly? A LOT of performers don't write their own lyrics. That's why songwriters exist. Who cares?

Iggy hasn't addressed the supposed slam yet, through reps or the ever-popular Twitter attack, and there's no indication she will. Maybe she's just too fancy for that kind of childishness.

Do you think Nicki Minaj was out of line at the BET Awards?
