Ireland Baldwin and her dad Alec Baldwin (perhaps you've heard of him?) haven't been without some father/daughter stress in the their lives. I guess if your dad is Alec Baldwin, it's just expected as part of life. It seemed like yesterday that Alec was calling her a "thoughtless little pig."
That was way back in 2007 though and I totally forgave him for it because, well, Ireland clearly did and sometimes we say things as parents that we regret. (Guilty.)
The latest news on Ireland is that she is dating Angel Haze and that has some wondering if this whole thing is to piss off her "homophobic" father. Haze gave quite the revealing interview regarding Ireland.
The Independent's interview with Haze has her talking about how she doesn't understand why people insist her and Ireland are best friends. They are more than that. She said:
I have never f**ked one of my friends I don't know if there's like some confirm or deny thing with the way relationships work in the media, but everyone just calls us best friends, best friends for life, like we're just friends hanging out. It's funny. It's rad in some ways, it sucks in others.
An interracial gay couple, I mean that's just weird for America right now. We f**k and friends don't f**k. I have never f**ked one of my friends. Once I see you in that way, it doesn't happen. But we do f**k and it's crazy and that's weird to say because I think about it in terms of an audience reading it and them thinking, 'What the hell?' But it happens.
Okay then. Point taken. Not that I needed it hammered home. If someone is in love and happy, then I'm happy for them. Clearly, Haze is a bit annoyed at all the attention and questions. I cannot imagine how hard it is to date or be a celebrity. Under a microscope all the time? No thanks.
There have been so many rumors about the relationship between Ireland and Angel, and with all the speculation she probably felt it was time to share the truth. Still, this has some wondering if it's all to piss off Alec, who once called a paparazzo a "cocksucking fag."
Ireland came to her dad's defense on that one saying: "My dad is far from a homophobe or a racist. From what you've read and from what media has been shoved down your throats, he has a kind heart. Having paparazzi following my mom and I has not been thrilling. Paparazzi can bring out many confined feelings of anger and spite out of anyone. My point being, what my dad said was WRONG. What my dad felt WASN'T."
Awww. I love the Baldwins!
I also like how what Haze said about two women being together will get people thinking:
There are still certain limitations for women. If we were two guys, it'd be insane, negatively insane with the attention. With us it's all being very positive, the media are like, 'Oh they're so cute, they're best friends.'
Love is love is love is love.
What do you think of these two dating? I don't know about you, but I'm waiting on the next paparazzo to approach Alec on this matter ... (I hope he schools them).
