In the wake of the mass firing over at The View, many viewers are wondering who the heck will be replacing Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd on the ABC daytime talk show. The studio declined to renew their contracts, but from what we can tell, it seems to be a mutual decision, as the two are being very amicable about the whole thing.
According to HollywoodLife.com, studio execs might be looking to keep things "in the ABC family" by hiring from within. According to one source, current Bachelorette Andi Dorfman is on the short list of possibilities to replace McCarthy or Shepherd.
The source claims, "They want to test her out and see if she would work out in the mold of The View, the folks at ABC have tons of decisions to make including bringing Barbara back, they are going to make a serious splash when they rework the show ... and the potential to bring Andi in is something they are definitely considering."
Whoa. That would certainly shake things up, wouldn't it? Say what you want about Andi -- the lady is opinionated and not exactly afraid to share her thoughts on any given matter. I can already see the sparks flying between her and Whoopi Goldberg!
Andi wouldn't be the first Bachelorette to parlay her search for love into a career in the entertainment industry. Ali Fedotowsky came onto the scene as a contestant on The Bachelor before becoming The Bachelorette herself. She's now an anchor and special correspondent for E! News and even recently signed on to pen a love and sex column for a popular magazine.
Could Andi be following in Ali's footsteps and pursuing a career in front of the camera? She did recently quit her job at the district attorney's office, so we know she's probably looking for a different line of work. I guess only time will tell!
Do you think Andi Dorfman would be a good fit for The View?
