When it comes to her marriage to Dean McDermott, Tori Spelling is sending mixed messages.
As we know all too well, McDermott’s cheating scandal with Canadian fan Emily Goodhand rocked their family last year. We saw the fallout on their painful Lifetime show, True Tori, and it's hard to imagine how anyone can reconcile after something like that. Spelling, however, sounds optimistic and recently told Us Weekly that things are looking up when it comes to repairing their marriage.
Things are getting better. Life is always a work in progress and our relationship is one as well, but we're moving in the right direction.
If that's what she wants, then we're happy for her (we think), but according to her social media accounts, things might not be as cheery and wonderful as she’s making them out to be.
Case in point: Spelling recently dropped her husband’s name from her social media monikers. She changed them from “torianddean” to simply “torispelling.” That seems like a pretty pointed thing to do if things are moving in the right direction, no? Spelling also hasn’t shared any photos of her husband in months, except for one awkward black-and-white photo of the two to help promote their reality show.
Perhaps it's just that Spelling is slowly cutting McDermott out of her professional life to save her career and her reputation. She’s received a lot of backlash for airing her dirty laundry and embarrassing her kids on her reality show, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s trying to rebrand herself simply as “Tori Spelling” rather than “Tori and Dean.” In any case, it seems that Spelling is ready to reinvent herself once again. Whether that's just professionally or personally too remains to be seen.
Do you think Tori Spelling is cutting her husband out of the spotlight to help save her career or out of her life altogether?
