Would you believe that the gorgeous and talented Anna Kendrick hasn't been hit on in five years? That's what the 28-year-old bombshell insists, but I'm finding it just a little bit difficult to accept as absolute truth.
The triple threat actress graced the cover of Elle's first ever #SocialMediaIssue, and in her sit-down interview, she revealed that she hasn't been hit on since filming Up in the Air in 2009. Obviously the interviewer was incredulous too, because she swore, "Honest to God."
In all fairness, she did split from director Edgar Wright last year after four years of dating and has kept a pretty low profile on the romantic front since then. So it's probable she would've been hit on, had she been putting herself out there.
Oh who are we kidding? It just doesn't make any sense that Anna Kendrick hasn't been hit on since 2009, boyfriend or not. Here are five possible explanations for Anna's lack of potential suitors.
She's Clueless. Sorry Anna, but if you've been asked for your autograph from a male admirer, you've been hit on. You're gorgeous and amazingly talented, but let's face it -- the boys aren't exactly lining up to see Twilight and Pitch Perfect.
She's Aphrodite. Maybe she seems too unattainable for guys to think they have a shot, so they don't even bother. Men are notorious for loathing rejection, so why put themselves out there and risk what they think is certain failure?
The Bar's Too High. This girl is used to some major accolades, including a Tony nomination at just 12 years old (for High Society) and an Oscar nod for Best Supporting Actress in Up in the Air. Flirty pick-up lines may not even register on her radar.
The Friend Zone. Despite being beautiful and talented, Anna seems like the quirky cool girl next door who doesn't think she's anything special -- she describes herself as "pale" and "awkward" in her Twitter profile. She may just be too downright friendly and self-deprecating to get hit on.
She Still Doesn't Believe She's Hot. Despite being one of the sexiest actresses around, Anna's a self-proclaimed late bloomer who didn't attract much attention in high school. She said, "I've never felt like I've exactly traded on my looks. When I was a teenager, I was an ultra-late bloomer, and my mom would say it was a blessing, because it means you never have to wonder if guys are only interested in you because you've got boobs ... I would have been thrilled if guys were interested in me because of my boobs!"
