A few days ago, Rihanna took some heat for showing up basically naked to the CFDA awards. Well, I mean, she wore some Swarovski crystals held together by a little bit of sheer mesh, and some sort of head scarf, and maybe even shoes (did anyone look for shoes, or did they all get blinded by nipples?), but that's about it.
Two people who had an issue with the way RiRi dressed were T-Boz and Chilli from the girl group TLC. They were on an Australian morning show recently called Sunrise, and they went off on their colleague for her risque clothing (or lack thereof) choices.
Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins said, "Every time I see you, you don't have to be naked." Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas added, "We became the biggest selling girl group of all time with our clothes on and that says a lot."
It went on. "It's hard for us to say anything because any time we do, they say 'Oh TLC must be jealous,' but I call a spade a spade," T-Boz said. In another interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, T-Boz continued, "At the end of the day the music speaks for itself, you don't have to take your clothes off if your music is great."
Rihannawasn't about to take that crap. She'll be nekkid if she wants to, thankyouverymuch, and if you've ever promoted yourself publicly in a similar fashion, God help you if you judge her.
The superstar singer didn't have to do anything to respond to the TLC except tweet, "When there's no changing the fact that I'm me, and they're well...they're them."
Oh, and change her banner on her Twitter background to a picture of TLC posing topless, using only their hands to cover their breasts.
Rihanna -- 1, TLC -- 0. Sorry ladies.
Do you think Rihanna's comback was brilliant?
