Khloe KardashianWe all know that Rob Kardashian has been going through a rough time. He gained a ton of weight and then mysteriously jettisoned his sister Kim's wedding and flew back to Los Angeles before he saw Kimye exchange "I do"s. And rumor has it that the one person he's really been able to count on these days is ... his former brother-in-law, Lamar Odom. While it's good that Rob has someone he feels he can open up to, word has it that this turn of events has not made Khloe happy at all.

A source told HollywoodLife:

Khloe has been in contact with Rob and urged him to seek Bruce Jenner’s help with his problems and not Lamar ... she made it clear that she doesn’t approve of him being in constant contact with Lamar because she thinks he can be toxic and clingy.

Khloe could be very right here. She knows Lamar well and might perceive that he's using Rob to get to her, or get information about her. And even if Lamar isn't doing this, it could still make her feel very uncomfortable.

On the other hand, Rob and Lamar are adults who should be able to be friends with whomever they want, without Mama Khloe running their lives. If the two had a connection and Lamar is being a positive influence on Rob or helping him with his issues, then why not let the two continue to talk? In fact, they don't need anyone's permission. Plenty of couples who split up keep in touch with their ex-in-laws.

It all really depends on making some strict boundaries. Khloe needs to let Rob know that he can't talk about her at all. And Rob needs to keep his eyes open for signs that Lamar might be using their friendship to weasel back into Khloe's life.

Given how emotionally fragile Rob seems right now, it might be best to butt out and let him have friends -- whoever they may be. Rob's mental health might depend on it.

Do you think Rob and Lamar should still be pals?
