I'm not quite sure how I feel about Walking Dead fans who are so obsessed with the show, they lurk near its filming location and post top-secret observations and images. I mean, on the one hand, I think maybe it might be time for some of those folks to take up a nice soothing hobby like knitting. On the other hand, the rest of us benefit from their dedication!
If you're interested in seeing what the spies at The Spoiling Dead have been sharing lately about season 5, I've got a roundup of the very latest rumors and stealth-photos.
Let's start with new cast member Seth Gilliam. As you may remember, he joined the show earlier this month, and his character was described as "having two sides, displaying a friendly, puckish humor but also having a haunted side stemming from a dark secret." Plenty of fans, including yours truly, theorized Gilliam would be playing some variant of Father Gabriel Stokes from the comics, and here's what The Spoiling Dead spotted during filming:
Seth Gilliam was 100% dressed as a priest. Black suit, white collar.
Also, check out these photos from an observant fan:
There appears to be a lot going on with this house, as other reports confirm that Tara, Maggie, and Glenn were seen filming there. But let's take a closer look at that car:
As a Spoiling Dead fan points out, this exact car also appears in the season 4 finale, when Rick's group is on the run in Terminus. Here's a screenshot of that moment:
Interesting. Could it be that Rick's group ends up taking that car to escape Terminus? Or was the car used in a flashback episode that explains Terminus's origins? On May 23, the Spoiling Dead reported,
A chase scene was filmed multiple times involving two vehicles. One had a cross in the back window but it was not the same vehicle that took Beth. With leaves spread over the road the car would speed away. Right after, you would hear a gunshot followed by another vehicle chasing after the other. This was filmed multiple times at different angles.
As for that house -- is it possible Beth is being held there, hence the violent scene happening at the front door?
What do you think of these Walking Dead set rumors? Do you have any theories about what these hints may mean for the story?
