People have been talking about how Chad Smith, drummer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Will Ferrell look alike. Twins! Has anyone seen them in a room together? Are we sure they aren't the same person? Well, we are sure. Jimmy Fallon made sure we are sure. He got them to come on his show and have a drum-off. Finally!
This is the stuff of fantasies. Take a look at these two. Can you even tell who is Chad and who is Will? Wait until you see them behind the drums! Cowbell, anyone? It's on.
With their matching outfits complete with KISS T-shirt and backwards baseball cap, Chad and Will get behind the drums and battle it out in a traditional drum-off. Ha! They each get four solos (oh my gosh!) and whoever whacks, smacks, and slaps the skins the best wins. How Jimmy said that with a straight face I will never know. Check this out!
Chad's quite the comedian. I guess you have to be when you've worked with Flea and Anthony Kiedis for all these years. Will is -- as expected -- silly. In a baby voice, he says, "Looks like baby learned how to play the drums. but can baby do this?" He plays, impressively, and then says, "I just blew my mind." I love his little quip about wondering if Chad really played for the Lukewarm Chili Peppers.
Will is good! He's no Chad Smith though. And then the moment we expected happened -- the cowbell comes out followed by the moment I didn't expect. The Red Hot Chili Peppers come out to play "Don't Fear the Reaper" with Will on cowbell! Loved it!
Will ends up the winner of this drum-off, which only makes sense since it was the cowbell that brought Flea, Kiedis, and who is that guy playing guitar with them now? Right. Josh Klinghoffer.
Thank you, Jimmy Fallon for making dreams come true.
What did you think? Were you shocked the Chili Peppers came out?
