Jay Z, Beyonce, & Solange Knowles Insist 'Families Have Problems' in Statement

Beyonce, Solange KnowlesJay Z's got 99 problems but Solange Knowles ain't one of them. At least according to the joint statement issued by Beyonce and her hubs, along with her little sis, to the Associated Press on Thursday afternoon.

Move along, people! Nothing but a happy family to see here!

In case you need a quick refresher, video footage was leaked to TMZ this week showing Queen Bey's little sis going berserk on Jay-Z in an elevator after the Met Gala earlier this month, while she stood idly by examining her fingernails or mentally posing her next #NoMakeup selfie or something.

There's been wild speculation over what instigated the attack, like maybe Jay Z cheated, or possibly worse -- farted in the elevator.

Beyonce obviously tried to pretend like everything was A-OK by posting a bunch of lovey-dovey pictures of her and Solange to her Instagram account on Wednesday. Please pay no attention to the fact that Solange scrubbed her big sis from her own account!

Anyway, despite all this weird dirty laundry being aired in public, the trio insists that at the end of the day, they'll still family. In a statement released Thursday:

"As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it," the statement said. "Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family."

"The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false," the statement continued. "At the end of the day families have problems and we're no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."

I buy it. Well, all except for the not being intoxicated part. Come on. It was one of the parties of the year. Do they really expect us to believe any of them was stone cold sober? Why not just say, "Yeah, we all had a little too much to drink, family drama spilled out, and Solange lost her sh!t, but Jay was kind of being a jerk, but aren't you lucky all your family drama isn't caught on tape and sold to the media?" Now that would be legit.

We may never know exactly what went down in that elevator, and the truth of it is that it probably doesn't matter. It looks like all's well that ends well, and hopefully we can move forward from this drama as well as this statement makes it sound like Jay Z, Beyonce, and Solange have.

Do you think they've really all made up?

Well maybe she really wasn't drunk. I'm confused why this is getting so much attention. They had a fight and yeah she should have kept her hands to herself but let's move on.

Regardless of wether she was drunk or not that is assault and it's completely unacceptable behavior for a grown woman. I feel like their statement minimizes this. I understand they are peeved they're personal fight was made public but there is a reason people are concerned here. If she wasn't drunk then what's her excuse? It doesn't make her look any better to say she was sober.

The only people concerned about this are those who have no life or those who behave the same.

How about it's none of our effing business? It was a private family matter that some asshole leaked to TMZ. And as for assault charges, if Jay-Z truly felt threatened, he could have gone to the police, but obviously he realized she was out of control and handled it in a very calm manner and they worked it out as a family, which is how it should be.
