Kailyn Lowry Announces Big Future Plans That Don't Include 'Teen Mom'

kailyn lowryThere is no question that Kailyn Lowry has become a big fan favorite since her debut  in season two of 16 & Pregnant. Being such a sweet, down-to-earth girl, it is easy to see why. And our hearts webt out to her when she broke up with baby daddy Jo Rivera when their baby was just a few months old. Their on-again, off-again romance was such a soap opera. Plus, she made no secret of her rocky relationship with her mother. In recent months, however, her life has been on a total upswing. Her kids are doing great and she found love again, marrying Javi Marroquin in 2012. Now she has announced even bigger, grander plans.

Her new memoir, Pride Over Pitty is on Amazon's and Barnes and Noble's Top 100 lists and, even more impressively, she has become a New York Times Bestseller.

No one is more shocked by the success than she is. “I’m actually surprised by it because I know some people online have been super nasty, so I’m just so overwhelmed with happiness and excitement,”  she told Wet Paint.

It took her three years to write, but clearly that hard work paid off. Her story - filled with as much tragedy as hope - has really resonated with fans. Kailyn has been so inspired by the response that she is now planning on writing a sequel. "I do plan on writing another book following the journey that I plan on [taking] after the show is done," she said.

Such exciting news for her. It's especially wonderful to hear that she has managed to carve out a legitmate career from her Teen Mom fame. Not all of her fellow costars have been able to do that. So many others are dogged by legal troubles or made decisions that have been less than admirable (like filming a porn). But as happy as we are for Kailyn, it's also sad that she alludes to an end of her time on the show. So many viewers tune in just to see what's going on in her life. I guess her books will have to do.

Are you planning to read Kailyn's books?

@Jessica: If I were you, I wouldn't waste my money on her book either. It is pretty typical, that books (without a lot of pictures) are hard to understand, when you cannot read.

Halfway through her first book and I think it's super interesting. I really admire Kailyn with all that she has overcome. I also have no idea what Jessica was trying to say in her comment. Maybe you should go back to school hun.

I am in the middle of Kailyn's book. I love it !!! You are so strong Kailyn. I was in a similar situation as a child. So I understand what you went through. I think the hardest thing is the feeling of not having security. There isn't a soft place to fall. So with that I will say that I am so proud of you and who you have become. Because we only hove 2 choices. One, become like Them or not. And you as I did made the choice to not become Them.

Another thing Kailyn. About all those around you that say mean things to you or about you. If someone doesn't like you....you might be doing something right. Keep that in mind for the rest of your life.
