The Kardashians may have fans all over the world -- but apparently none of them are in the Hamptons. Khloe and Kourtney are set to film the latest installment of their reality show in the exclusive enclave near New York City, but the locals are none too thrilled about it. In fact, they'd like to keep the famous sisters out of their neighborhood entirely. And if that happens -- which it might, given the power that Hamptonites have -- then Kourtney & Khloé Take the Hamptons might be renamed to Kourtney & Khloé Take the Brooklyn. Though god help me I hope not!
A source told New York Post's Page Six about the girls' production:
They have been looking at property on Little Plains Road in Southampton, and already the neighbors are up in arms about it. They don’t want the hassle of the entourage, the cameras, the paparazzi, and all the fanfare that comes with this attention-seeking family.
Even the mayor of the town where the show hopes to film, Southampton Village, had this to say:
I just hear rumors like everyone else and ... we have had some reaction from some residents. The village is a fairly quiet [one], and I think there is some concern.
Southampton is home to some very famous people -- Kelly Ripa, Howard Stern, and Rachael Ray among them -- and they pay oodles of money to live there. No doubt having two Kardashians in their midst -- and all of the paparazzi they attract -- isn't exactly what what they want their summer to be about.
The mayor said no filming permits have yet been filed. Not to mention that the beach is closed to filming through most of the summer. Add to that the fact that the powerful locals clearly don't want them around, and, well, maybe Khloe and Kourtney will be moving to Brooklyn after all! (Please, god, no.)
Does it matter to you where the show films? Can't they just go back to Miami? Please?
