Kim Kardashian Reveals Her Fears for North West

Kim KardashianKim Kardashian has decided now is the time to try and use her fame to better humanity. (Better late than never, right?) Giving birth to North West has apparently woken Kim up to the fact that racism still permeates our society, and she wants to do something about it. The first step, of course, is to blog about it. Let's hear what Kim had to say.

Kim wrote on her blog:

I never knew how much being a mom would change me ... seeing through my daughter’s eyes the side of life that isn’t always so pretty.

To be honest, before I had North, I never really gave racism or discrimination a lot of thought. It is obviously a topic that Kanye is passionate about, but I guess it was easier for me to believe that it was someone else’s battle. But recently, I’ve read and personally experienced some incidents that have sickened me and made me take notice. I realize that racism and discrimination are still alive, and just as hateful and deadly as they ever have been ... I want my daughter growing up in a world where love for one another is the most important thing.

So the first step I’m taking is to stop pretending like this isn’t my issue or my problem, because it is, it’s everyone’s ...

It's nice to hear Kim finally use her celebrity to talk about something besides fashion. Someone with 20 million Twitter followers should spread more information than belfies of her ass.

Granted, there will be people who will point and laugh at Kim's attempts to be taken more seriously. And, no, Kim Kardashian will never be Rosa Parks. But she can make her own small attempts to make the world a better place for biracial Nori.

Do you think Kim should be talking about more serious topics?

Racism is rife in the world, particularly, in Europe and the USA. Kim Kardashain is talking about it, because she does not want her daughter to experience it as she, North, grows up; and that is a very honorable idea of a young mother as she, Kim, is. Her fans will applaud her frankness and foresight.

I have never been a fan of Kim, but hearing this makes me look at her in a new light. I am proud of her for stepping up on this matter. Maybe she can help open peoples eyes. I'm a mother of two biracial children and both of them and I do get attack on the matter. Thank you Kim for any help you give.

My son was biracial and after he passed my own father said horrible things about it and about my son. Since then I've turned my life over to GOD and while I don't condone interracial breeding cuz its a sin I believe that if you love someone enough to have children with them regardless of their race that's your business and we as your peers should live you your partner and your children as GOD intended. Congrats to Kim for stepping up and speaking out against this type of hate. Maybe a celebrity raising awareness is exactly what the world needs since nobody listens to little people saying to live one another
