It is a truth universally acknowledged that Mondays suck a big bag of flaming dog turds, which is why I am writing this post. I have no searing insights to share, nor am I reporting on anything of major significance. Instead, what I have for you is a video of X-Men: Days of Future Past stars Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, and James McAvoy dancing to "Blurred Lines." That's it, really. There is nothing more to add, except perhaps the circumstances that led to this historic moment.
"Eh," I can hear you thinking, mired as you are in Monday's insidious undertow. "How great can this video really be?" Do not question me when I tell you that it is SO GREAT. Even if you hate and despise this annoying earworm of a date-rape anthem, even if you could give a small staccato toot about X-Men, I promise this clip will put a smile on your face.
Jackman, Fassbender, and McAvoy were on The Graham Norton Show in London on Friday, and Jackman got to talking about how Fassbender was so hard to "coax out of the trailer" when they were shooting, they resorted to playing music:
He'll wait in there for hours and hours -- he's very difficult, very ornery on set. So there was really only one song [that would get him to come out], and I used to get the sound guy to play it very loud in the studio as he came in, just so he could get his mojo up.
This was obviously all a ham-handed lead-up for what happened next, but whatever, I will allow their cheesy scripted segue because HELLO FASSBENDER DANCING.
Check it out:
No offense to the other guys, who are perfectly nice-looking and are very decent talented actors and all, but Fassssssssssssssssbender. I don't even care that he's delicately straddling the line between looking smoking hot and looking like a complete dork with Elaine-from-Seinfeld moves. All I know is that this movie wasn't really on my radar and now I want to see it a whole lot because Fassbender looks quite appealing as the evil Magneto:
Although, let's be honest:
Who's your favorite from this trio of tasty actors?
