Before I so much as mention anything else, can I get a huge "Hell Yeah!" for Ricky Martin being a guest judge on Dancing With the Stars tonight? OMG. Who doesn't love Ricky Martin? Livin' la vida loca baby. (I dig it.)
But while he may have spiced up Latin night as far as the judges' panel goes -- the theme of the evening really seemed to revolve around contestants breaking down and getting injured.
Ugh. It's almost as if there's a black cloud hanging over the DWTS ballroom or something. Danica McKellar's broken rib seriously took its toll on her salsa routine.
And then poor Amy Purdy did something to her back during her performance with Derek Hough, which totally messed up her team dance, to the point where they didn't even get the chance to perform live. Sure ... the judges still got to see their dress rehearsal and based their scores on that, which wound up working in their favor -- but it's not the same as seeing the real deal live.
Oh, and then there was whatever happened with Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy during rehearsal. She hurt her wrist and he hurt his ... well ... something. And even though they totally nailed their dance, something still seemed a bit "off" from last week.
(And what's up with Candace Cameron Bure having to meet with a therapist? Sheesh!)
But lucky for all of the injured parties, none of them found themselves in jeopardy this week, so they still have plenty of time to recover -- or at least we hope so. OMG. What if Amy's injury is too serious for her to continue? That would be beyond devastating. She's such an inspiration and she deserves to continue on in the competition.
And unfortunately, someone had to go home, and I'm really not all that surprised that this was the end of the road for NeNe Leakes. She has quite the personality, but her dancing skills simply aren't up to par with some of the other cast members. (Sorry, but it's true.)
Are you sad to see NeNe go? Are you worried about Amy?
