Anna "Chickadee" Shannon and her boyfriend, Michael Caldwell, announced their engagement during the season 3 finale of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, and it was beyond adorable. Sure, she's pretty young -- 19 -- as is her 21-year-old mechanic fiance, but the two seem like a really good match. The Boo Boo clan is genuinely excited about the union, so all the best to them.
Instead of planning and waiting a year or two to actually tie the knot, these two crazy kids will be exchanging vows waaaay sooner than that -- they're getting hitched next month! We have all the details about their upcoming wedding and all I can say is: it's beyond perfect for the couple.
Despite their sudden fame, Chickadee and Michael have NOT hired a wedding planner to help them, which makes me extremely happy because it would be totally out of character for them to pay big bucks so someone can obsess over flower arrangements. And, given how they don't seem like catering hall types, it makes perfect sense that they will be holding the intimate affair on May 3 in a friend's backyard in Georgia.
The love birds have also written their own vows, which is a sweet way to personalize your ceremony. Chickadee is going to wear a white silk bridal gown with a sweetheart neckline and long train. I don't know about you, but I was expecting something less traditional -- but I love it.
And here's my favorite part: her bridesmaids, sisters Jessica and Pumpkin, along with her best friend Candace, are going to wear white and teal dresses from Forever 21. Um ... can you say best bride ever?! I can't think of many brides-to-be who are so thoughtful they select bridesmaids dresses that cost less than $100.
Other sweet touches include the fact that Chickadee's 19-month-old daughter will serve as a flower girl and that guests will feast on traditional Southern BBQ. Yum!
There's nothing better than attending a wedding that truly reflects a couple's personality and taste -- and this unpretentious ceremony sounds like it's going to be ideal for Chickadee and Michael.
What do you think of this couple's wedding plans? Are you at all surprised by them?
