Maci Bookout Is Sick of Childless People Giving Her Parenting Advice

maci bookoutMaci Bookout, like all moms and dads, is subject to unsolicited parenting advice. It's just what happens when you give birth to a child. In fact, Maci probably is on the receiving end of "You should do this ..." even more than the rest of us, due to the fact that she had a child so young and she's a public figure. And that has to be annoying.

But what Maci really doesn't want to hear is advice on how to raise her son, Bentley, from people who don't have kids themselves. And it's kind of hard to blame her. Check out what Maci retweeted:

Sure, a lot of people are probably coming from a place of love and just trying to help, but there is something a little irritating about a childless person trying to tell a mom or dad how it's done. I'm sure I did this myself before having a child -- scratch that, I know I did this before having a child. So, sorry, parents who I annoyed!

It's easier said than done, but if Maci's doing the best she can, she shouldn't worry about what other people have to say about her parenting. And judging by how happy her adorable son seems, I think she's doing just fine.

Do you get annoyed by unsolicited parenting advice?

Try having a parenting class instructor who doesnt even have kids. And a caseworker who is only about 22 with no kids and obviously fed with a silver spoon. Sorry but raising kids does not come out of text book

When you are the second oldest of 8 and you already have more experience with raising children than someone with one young kid, you have more than enough credentials to offer an opinion or advice if the situation warrants it.  Child birth and breast feeding?  Can only say what I know from sources I trust.  Everything after that I have been through from the day home from the hospital to up past puberty.  You don't have to be a bioparent to have experience.
