Wedding bells are officially ringing for Sir Elton John and David Furnish! Same sex couples are finally allowed to get legally married in England and these two who have been together for-just-about-ever are making it officially official.
At Elton's birthday party last week, David said: "We don’t feel the need to take an extra step legally. But since we’re committed for life, we feel it’s really important to take that step, and take advantage of that amazing change in legislation. We all live by example." Sweet! The details of their wedding are even sweeter.
Elton and David's wedding will be in May. If you recall, they had a civil ceremony with a party back in 2005 that cost around $2 million bucks. This time, though, the dads are having something smaller and with their kids.
"I think what we’ll do is go to a registry office in England in May, and take the boys with us, and a couple of witnesses," David said.
How sweet is that? The Elton and David have two kids -- Elijah is 16 months now and Zachary is 3. Even though it's only a piece of paper, it's a big deal -- and I'm guessing that this ceremony will be even more emotional because they will be surrounded by their kids.
Are you a fan of a big wedding or a smaller one? What do you think of Elton and David's wedding plans?
