Hannah was so likeable in the finale of HBO's Girls. I was rooting for her and happy that she found some part of herself when she received the letter from ... wait ... in case you didn't figure it out yet, spoilers ahead. The letter! From Iowa's writer's workshop graduate school -- the best MFA program in the world! And as she tells Adam about it, she says that she wants to "find a hole in the world in the shape of me and just fill it up."
But Adam wasn't so thrilled.
I expected more from him. A little excitement, dude? It's just like Patti LuPone said in the last episode ... I'm paraphrasing ... there can only be one hot shot in the relationship. The other person takes the backseat. Hannah is no backseater though. Adam should know that. They're young! Long distance stuff can be no big deal! But what we see is he's just not into it, and after that exchange in the alley after the play, I'm so glad that Hannah walked away.
It's like she found her big girl pants again. Her confidence. Her mojo. Good. For. Her.
I still don't think it's over for these two yet. We'll just have to wait until the next season to see what's up. Also does Beadie die?!?! I can't help but feel Jessa didn't really give her a killer combo of pills. Could she truly have done such a thing? And then Marnie and Desi making out? Saw that coming. And Shosh wants Ray back after she finds out Marnie had sex with him sometimes numerous times in the same day?
"You make me want to be the best version of myself. I love you," she tells him at intermission without even opening up the M&M's. "Please," she tells Ray when she asks him to take her back. Ay yi yi.
Worried about a lot of things for the next season of Girls. And I'm worried Hannah is going to have some sort of change of heart and not go to Iowa in order to save her relationship with Adam. Sigh.
What did you think of the finale?
