I knooooooow, guys, it's been sooooooo long since we've seen Robert Pattinson on the big screen. But now we only have three months more to wait! Mark your calendars because Rob is set to sexy up the big screen June 13 in the new film The Rover. Production company A24 has announced that the release date for the U.S. has been pushed up -- and since it's hitting theaters in the middle of summer, when it will have a buttload of competition, there must be high hopes for it.
The film, directed by David Michod, stars Rob and Guy Pearce. Remember him from Memento and L.A. Confidential? The movie is already getting some buzz and is expected to be selected to debut at the Cannes Film Festival -- where it's also expected that Rob will make an appearance.
He hasn't done that since he and Kristen were there in 2012 and still quite lovey-dovey at the time. That's practically where they announced they were a real couple and not just some figment of our couple imagination.

For those of you who can't wait to see Rob sink his acting chops into a meaty role, this looks like the one. The movie takes place in the Australian desert in the near future. There, Guy and Rob, who plays a displaced gang member, team up to hunt down the rest of Rob's gang, who have stolen everything Guy has. (Sounds kind of like Mad Max? Could this film make Rob the new -- but nicer -- Mel Gibson?)
The stills from the movie promise a dirty, sweaty, and bloody Rob. Yum!
