It looks like Dakota Johnson has something in common with her Fifty Shades of Grey character Anastasia Steele. Neither one of them seem to let the limelight go to their heads.
Johnson was busy filming Cymbeline with John Leguizamo when the news broke that she’d been cast as the leading lady in the film adaptation of one of the best selling novels of all time. The actor recently revealed that even though the announcement brought a huge amount of crazy, Johnson didn’t change with the fame.
"Here we're doing the movie and she's just Dakota Johnson and the next week it was announced in the trades that she's in Fifty Shades of Grey and all of a sudden we're bombarded," Leguizamo said at the SXSW premiere of his new comedy, Chef. "But she still remained the same girl even though we had to protect her from the massive amounts of crazy."
He snapped his fingers while he added, "Her life changed like that."
Just like Ana in the story didn’t change when billionaire Christian Grey started doting on her, it looks like Dakota’s staying true to herself despite her rising star status.
Good for her! I mean, I know she has some experience growing up with fame, seeing as how her parents are Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, but still, it's got to be different when the attention is focused solely on you and not just because your parents are who they are.
Too many young actors seem to lose their heads when their popularity skyrockets, and it's nice to see that at least one is staying down to earth.
Do you think Dakota Johnson is going to make a good Anastasia Steele?
