Is the singer Ke$ha now broke? It appears she has dropped the dollar sign from her name and now appears on Twitter as "Kesha." The "Die Young" singer is just out of rehab for an eating disorder and resumed tweeting after a month-and-a-half absence. If the dropped dollar sign is any indication, she's come out of rehab a brand new person.
Happy to be back! Feeling healthy & working on tons of new musicð±I can't thank my fans enough for all the love & support u have given meâ¤ï¸ï¿½ï¸ï¿½— kesha (@KeshaRose) March 7, 2014
She also changed her Twitter handle from @Keshasuxx to @KeshaRose. Whoa. Talk about a personality transplant. But, hey, this is good. Someone with an eating disorder probably had a very fractured, negative, and tumultuous view of life. If rehab did its job, she would have come out of it more peaceful, positive, and more compassionate with herself. Really, why would you say you "suxx"?
Right. Because she has self-esteem problems. Or did anyway. She told MTV before she checked into rehab:
I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I've found it hard to practice. I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder ... to learn to love myself again, exactly as I am.
Aww, that's awesome. Of course, just because she was in rehab for a month doesn't mean all of her problems are solved. Issues related to disorders like this are deeply ingrained and probably started years ago, maybe even in childhood. You can't just change your brain and your thinking in a month.
But it's a great start. Also, she must have decided that it's not all about money $$$$. External things like money, cars, jewelry, houses -- those are often things people concentrate on when they are seeking to fill a void in their souls. They usually figure out those material things only make you happy briefly. Then you realize you're still stuck with yourself.
Hopefully Kesha can stay on the road to recovery.
