Robert Pattinson seems to be having a blast on the Toronto set of his new movie Life. It follows the relationship between renowned Magnum photographer Dennis Stock (played by our man RPattz) and the legendary actor James Dean (played by Dane DeHaan), chronicling a road trip the pair took, which forever changed Stock's life. But as gleeful as he may look skipping with cows or wearing earmuffs, it was apparently his dark side (obviously) that caught director Anton Corbijn's eye.
Corbijn recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about what makes Rob perfect for the part of Dennis Stock ...
The director explained:
Rob has an intensity that I think Dennis would have. When I see Rob, I see an inner turmoil that is great for the role.
Inner turmoil, eh? That must mean he's not over KStew! Juuuust kidding. We've always known he has that broody-hot thing going on. And judging from what we've seen from the set so far, it looks like he's bringing it to this new role in a charming, accessible, non-sparkly vampire way.
Meanwhile, Dane, his co-star (with whom he seems to be having a major bromance!), "is really interesting. He has a beautiful face, but it's a face to grasp. It's hard to see how Dane reads [onscreen] sometimes, and the same goes for James Dean."
Sounds like the perfect duo for a flick poised for critical acclaim!
What great qualities do you see Rob bringing to this role?
