Talk about terrifying. Taylor Swift just filed a temporary restraining order against a truly scary stalker. The alleged stalker, a 33-year-old man named Timothy Sweet, believes he's married to Taylor and the two reside in California together. "My wife, Taylor Swift [Sweet] and I live in Beverly Hills. I am in love with her. In conclusion, we treat each other with dignity and respect. I will carry a gun to protect her the rest of my life," he wrote.
But that's not the most frightening thing he wrote about the singer by a long shot.
In a series of letters, social media posts, and emails, Sweet also said the following things:
"If anyone in Taylor Swift's family gets killed, it is not my fault."
"Dearest Taylor, I'll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage. Message to John Kerry, Secretary of State. Message from YOUR Presidential Candidate." Uhhh ...
Swift, understandably, is very uncomfortable with Sweet's behavior. "[His conduct] is seriously alarming and harassing and [is] extremely distressing to me and my family," Swift said in court, adding that she does "not have desire to interact with or communicate in any way with Mr. Sweet."
The restraining order she got is only until March 25, but until then, her stalker must stay 100 yards away from Taylor, her mother, father, and brother at all times. Additionally, he is forbidden from contacting her through any electronic means.
I really hope Taylor gets this restraining order extended or turned permanent, because man, this is really disturbing stuff for both her and her family. And it probably doesn't hurt to have a bodyguard or two with her at all times. I would not want to run into this guy in a dark alley.
What would you do if you were Taylor Swift?
